Peter Straughan (born 1968) is a British playwright, screenwriter and author, based in the north-east of England. He was writer-in-residence at Newcastle 's Live Theatre Company. Whilst there, Live staged his plays, Bones and Noir.

Biography. Playwright and screenwriter Peter Straughan was born in 1968 and grew up in Gateshead in the north-east of England. He worked as a professional musician and actor and studied English at Newcastle University. He won the 1997 Northern Arts Writer's Award and his play A Rhyme for Orange won the 1997 North East People's Play Award.
