- The Killers. The Killers came in hot with their 2005 album Hot Fuss. It is not an exaggeration to call this one of the defining albums for millennials and Gen X’ers and to call The Killers one of the most popular rock bands of the 2000s.

- My Chemical Romance. Best album: I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love. Best song: “I’m Not Okay (I Promise)” Years active: 2001 – 2013, 2019 – present.
- Red Hot Chili Peppers. In the 1990s, Red Hot Chili Peppers rose to fame with their single “Give It Away.” The certified-Platinum song was their first #1 on the Alternative Airplay chart.
