Biography. Ronald Kovic was born on the 4th of July 1946 in Ladysmith, Wisconsin. His parents soon moved to Massapequa, NY, where he was raised a proud patriot in a family with a history of military service. While his mother kept an eye on Ron and his five younger siblings at home, his father worked as a supermarket clerk.
