Saul Zaentz (/ ˈ z æ n t s /; February 28, 1921 – January 3, 2014) was an American film producer and record company executive. He won the Academy Award for Best Picture three times and, in 1996, was awarded the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award.
The Saul Zaentz Company was formed by Saul Zaentz and was the parent company of Middle-earth Enterprises untill ME was bought by Embracer Group in 2022, responsible for selling Peter Jackson the rights to produce The Lord of the Rings film trilogy.
