Steven Lee Anderson (born July 24, 1981) is an American preacher and founder of the New Independent Fundamentalist Baptist movement. He is pastor of Faithful Word Baptist Church in Tempe, Arizona . He has advocated for the death penalty for homosexuals , and prayed for the deaths of former U.S. president Barack Obama , and Caitlyn Jenner .

May 6, 2021 · Founding under Steven Anderson. Steven L. Anderson founded Faithful Word Baptist Church in Tempe, AZ, on Christmas Day in 2005. After initially meeting in the Anderson family’s living room, the congregation moved into a strip mall a year and a half later as the church membership grew. By 2017, the congregation included over 300 people.
