The film was directed by Pierre Perifel (in his feature directorial debut) from a screenplay by Etan Cohen, and stars the voices of Sam Rockwell, Marc Maron, Awkwafina, Craig Robinson, Anthony Ramos, Richard Ayoade, Zazie Beetz, Alex Borstein, and Lilly Singh.
- Sam Rockwell As Mr. Wolf. Sam Rockwell voices Mr. Wolf in The Bad Guys cast — the leader of the gang and the protagonist of the film. Mr. Wolf was the leader of the gang of thieves, and he always had a plan for everything.
- Marc Maron As Mr. Snake. Marc Maron voices Mr. Snake in The Bad Guys cast, a sarcastic safecracker, and Mr. Wolf’s second-in-command. Mr. Snake was an extremely important character in the movie, as it was his relationship with Mr. Wolf that led to his dark turn and eventual redemption in the end.

Always ready with a plan and the criminal expertise to pull it off, Wolf’s world is turned upside down when he realizes that doing good is more rewarding than the most prosperous heist.
- Marc Maron as Mr. Snake. Mr. Wolf’s second-in-command and best friend, Mr. Snake is an Eastern brown snake whose ability to slither into the tightest of spots and crack the most secure of safe’s makes him an invaluable member of the Bad Guys gang.
- Anthony Ramos as Mr. Piranha. What Mr. Piranha lacks in size he more than makes up for in attitude, with the Bolivian-red-bellied piranha living up to his reputation as a short-fused scrapper whose powerful punch is matched only by the stink of his burrito-fueled farts.
- Craig Robinson as Mr. Shark. They say with great white sharks that you will never see the coming, and that is especially the case with Mr. Shark, the “master of disguise” of the Bad Guys gang who made a name for himself when he pulled off the seemingly impossible feat of stealing the Mona Lisa while dressed as the Mona Lisa.
