Summaries. Rhoda Penmark seems like your average, sweet eight-year-old girl. After her rival at school dies in mysterious circumstances at the school picnic, her mother starts to suspect that Rhoda was responsible. Christine Penmark seems to have it all: a lovely home, a loving husband and the most "perfect" daughter in the world.
Plot. Kenneth and Christine Penmark dote on their eight-year-old daughter Rhoda. Kenneth leaves on military duty. Monica Breedlove, the Penmarks' neighbor and landlady, visits. Rhoda, pristine and proper in her pinafore dress and blonde pigtails, tells her about a penmanship competition that she lost to her schoolmate Claude Daigle.
Plot [ edit] The film begins as Emma Grossman ( Mckenna Grace ), a nine-year-old girl and daughter of widowed father David Grossman ( Rob Lowe ), watches a cat drown in the fountain beneath her bedroom window. She simply draws the blind and prepares for her day.
