The historical books set forth through David and those of his descendants who were godly, the pattern of the theocratic King, who subdues and rules the earth for the glory of God. The poetical books (esp. the Psalms) portray Christ as the One who delights to do God’s will and is ready to suffer cheerfully whatever His Father’s will entails.
