Jun 2022. This is probably the place most people experience Indiana Dunes as this is the primary beach with the most amenities, large parking area, restrooms, food and drink vending, tables and an easy to access shoreline. This is a great place to actually touch the cool waters of Lake Michigan.

Delivered once a month. A bathhouse, a huge swath of sand, and a stationed summer lifeguard make this beach one of the most popular Lake Michigan spots. For inland fun, climb the 250+ stairs of the Diana of the Dunes Dare (Dunes Succession Trail) with interdunal ponds and a mile-long boardwalk.

Get to know this 1.0-mile loop trail near Portage, Indiana. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 22 min to complete. This is a very popular area for walking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The best times to visit this trail are April through October.
