3 days ago · Race did start on time with an excellent blues guitar rendition of the star spangled banner. All four race distances, marathon, half, quarter and 5km started at the same time. So, you have all sorts of runners going in one direction. Nice finisher medal and quarter zip shirt. Small race field allows you to start in the first 100 feet.
Dec 19, 2013 · Hardly any races have age group awards, instead, everyone gets a finishers medal. Seems a bit silly for a 3.1 mile race to get an award for completion. I run that twice over in every training run and I'm a beginner. i know 5k completion is an accomplishment for many new runners, but hardly so after just a little bit more training.
