Daniel James Dailey Jr. (December 14, 1915 – October 16, 1978) was an American actor and dancer. He is best remembered for a series of popular musicals he made at 20th Century Fox such as Mother Wore Tights (1947).

Dan Dailey was born in New York. He made his stage debut in a minstrel show when he was 6 years-old, later performing in vaudeville shows. He received an Oscar nomination in 1948 for his performance in When My Baby Smiles at Me, and in 1949 he recorded four songs for Decca Records with the hugely popular Andrews Sisters.
