Rather, it was a collection of separate scrolls that were made to be read as a unified collection, and the book designed as the concluding crown jewel was Chronicles !

The Book of Malachi ( Hebrew: מַלְאָכִ֔י, Malʾāḵī) is the last book of the Neviim contained in the Tanakh, canonically the last of the Twelve Minor Prophets. In most Christian orderings, the grouping of the prophetic books is the last section of the Old Testament, making Malachi the last book before the New Testament .
May 11, 2022 · At the end of Malachi, the people of God were arguing back, challenging Him, and refusing to listen. This may be reason enough that He stopped speaking. Jesus was silent at times. From His silences, we might understand some of the reasons God doesn’t speak.

When God delivered His final message through Malachi, He paused His communications through man for nearly 400 years. The book of Malachi was completed in 397 BC, starting this period of silence until the angel’s announcement of the birth of John the Baptist in 4 BC ( Luke 1:11-17 ).

Malachi is home of the famous verse on God’s unchanging nature. “ For I am the Lord, I do not change ;” ( Malachi 3:6) Throughout the book, we can encounter God, going through a roller coaster of emotions. From love, to anger, to justice, God remains true to His character. He begins on a note of how much He loves Israel.
