Jane Randolph (née Roemer; October 30, 1914 – May 4, 2009), was an American film actress. She is best known for her portrayals of Alice Moore in the 1942 horror film Cat People, and its sequel, The Curse of the Cat People (1944).

the only explanation that I found was in the definitive series documentary which one of the developers said that in the first script AJ was dead and Melissa Hutchison said that she recorded some voice lines about that which means that Jane was telling the truth about AJ.
After googling the show, I was shocked to see that she was still alive. This was around 11pm-midnight central time. This was within hours of her death, possibly even shortly after she passed, depending on when exactly it happened since she passed overnight in her sleep.
