  2. Apr 23, 2004 · I have had a 1400 Winchester for 32 years they are good guns. Use it every year for bird hunting it has 1000s of rounds shot through it and still works with no problems.

  3. Sep 23, 2011 · Wayne Mayes, arguably the greatest skeet shooter in recent history, set incredible records with a 1400 which had a cutts compensator on it. It worked reliably for him for thousands of rounds and lots of championships.

  4. Jul 26, 2012 · Was the 1400 a good gun? Well, it sure was good enough for Wayne Mays. He won just about every American-style 12 gauge skeet championship possible with his 12 gauge Cutts compensated Winchester 1400.

  5. Feb 21, 2013 · Not a bad gun, soft recoil. Good for trap for a beginner because of the soft recoil. Picked up a smooth bore barrel with rifle sights a while back that was very accurate with slugs, but never bagged a deer with it. There are scope mounts that mount to the side too.

  6. May 22, 2009 · It's a gorgeous gun unlike some of the newer models these days (sorry, my personal choice is wood and a nice slick blued finish to the metal) and is very well suited to the field or trap (got a 24 with it and AA SSSCs Wednesday afternoon).

  7. Oct 7, 2012 · The 1400 is a pretty light shotgun. Lighter than I thought it would actually be. I figured it would be fun with the recoil and the lightweight. I'm no stranger to shotguns, but this seemed like it was going to be an interesting combination. I loaded three shells into the gun. The 1400 can only take three shells.

  8. May 25, 2019 · The gun is used every season since 1988, never had to replace one yet. A fellow in our club has 6 1400's, loves the guns, all he shoots, upland and turkey, has two in use now, one setup as a turkey gun. The fellow has 4 as spares, he'll buy any he finds in 90%+ condition.
