Its name came from the Osage Indians’ term meaning “the end of the trail.” The US government previously marked the area as Indian territory before its incorporation into a town in 1904. In 1972, Owasso became an officially chartered city.
Owasso is a city of 39,000 people (2021) in the Green Country region of Oklahoma. Owasso sprang up around Tulsa International Airport, and is now largely a bedroom community of Tulsa.
