In 2013, they signed a five-year deal with 20th Century Fox, christening the agreement with the release of ‘The Croods’ in March of that year.
As of 2016, DreamWorks is still based in Universal. In 1995, traditional animation artists from Amblimation joined the new studio, which led to DreamWorks buying part of Pacific Data Images, a company specializing in visual effects. Both were software divisions, and would merge later on.
