Heroes of the Storm fans, rejoice! The MOBA from Blizzard released a new batch of patch notes for the Public Test Realm along with a statement of gratitude for the community's feedback. Heroes of the Storm has not had any new content and was relegated to permanent maintenance mode in July 2022. However, the breadth of this latest patch has some fans questioning if a potential revival could be on the way.
Blizzard Entertainment, the team behind Heroes of the Storm, was recently acquired along with Activision and King in a record-setting purchase by Xbox. The acquisition has led to rampant speculation and rumors as to which IPs, if any, Xbox may attempt to revive.
CEO of Microsoft Gaming, Phil Spencer, recently made an appearance on the official Xbox Podcast to discuss the acquisition and player expectations. While he said he had no intentions of ordering any specific studio to revive any specific IPs, Spencer claimed that he and Xbox would be "all in" if a studio chose to revive a franchise.
