Dec 17, 2011 · This is actually very simple. The United Kingdom comprises England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. People from all four of these countries are British. Scottish, English, Welsh and Northern Irish people are people from each of these four countries. Hence, a Scottish person is both Scottish and British, but not English.
