  7. Ari Mendelson. 11 years ago. Seeing as how the Protestants split off from the Catholics, and didn't actually reform the church, would it be more accurate to say that the Protestant Reformation was just the start of a new religion and not a Reformation at all? •. ( 10 votes) Upvote.
