Three Sailors and a Girl is a 1953 Technicolor musical film made by Warner Bros. It was directed by Roy Del Ruth and written by Devery Freeman and Roland Kibbee, based on the George S. Kaufman play The Butter and Egg Man. Ray Heindorf was the musical director, with orchestrations by Gus Levene, and vocal arrangements by Norman Luboff.
After eight months at sea, women-hungry sailors in a submarine docking for repairs at New York Harbor anticipate thirty days of shore leave. One sailor, Choir Boy Jones, has just read a book about investing and suggests that the sailors invest their back pay, instead of wasting it on women.

The titular gobs are Jones, Twitch, and Parky, played respectively by Gordon MacRae, Gene Nelson, and Jack E. Leonard.
Impish Jane Powell pulls in three gullible sailors to finance Sam Levene's show, but as the sailors are golden-voiced Gordon MacRae, star hoofer Gene Nelson, and comic Jack E Leonard, everything turns out OK in the end.
