•1778: An unnamed Taylor ancestor is killed in the Revolutionary War.
•1863: A second Taylor ancestor is killed in Gettysburg, during the Civil War.
•1866: Confederate Lt. Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest, the man whom Forrest is named after, founded the KKK.
•January 9, 1913: Richard Nixon is born.
•1917: A third Taylor ancestor is killed in the First World War.
•May 29, 1917: John F. Kennedy is born.
•August 11, 1951: Forrest gets his new leg braces, and walks through Greenbow town with his mother.
•August 13, 1951: Forrest's mother visits the school principal to enroll Forrest. However, the principal takes advantage of Forrest's disability and has sex with Mrs. Gump.
•August 30, 1951: Forrest meets a young Elvis Presley (while Elvis was staying in their house for some time). Forrest liked dancing to Elvis’s music.
