Jun 22, 2020 · Follow the street uphill into the Castle of Gorizia. Within the castle walls, a small borgo with houses, cafes and shops seems to exist blissfully unaware of the city below. This is the ‘original Gorizia’ - still ticking along - from where the Austrians expanded the city into the plains below. The view from up here is staggering.
