Nguyễn Phú Trọng (Vietnamese pronunciation: [ŋwiən˦ˀ˥ fu˧˦ t͡ɕawŋ͡m˧˨ʔ]; born 14 April 1944) is a Vietnamese politician who has served as general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam since 2011. As the head of the party's Secretariat, Politburo and Central Military Commission, Trọng is Vietnam's paramount leader.

The current party leader is Nguyễn Phú Trọng, who holds the titles of General Secretary of the Central Committee and Secretary of the Central Military Commission . The party is known for its advocacy of what it calls a "socialist-oriented market economy" and Hồ Chí Minh Thought.
