Kokugakuin University (Japanese: 國學院大學), abbreviated as 國學大 (Kokugakudai) or 國大 (Kokudai) is a Shinto-affiliated private research university in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan. The predecessor institution was founded in 1882 as institution of classical and religious learning.

Kokugakuin University is a private university mostly based on Tokyo's Shibuya district. It began as the Office of Japanese Classics Research, as an organisation to further explore Shinto, the traditional religion of Japan. It then became a university under Japan's current university system in 1948.

The main purpose of the institution was to regain and conserve traditional Japanese values thought to have been diluted by Western Cultural influences during the Meiji Period.
