When Rocky Horror had its original U.S. release in 1975, the theatrical version was the U.K. release of the film. But when Rocky Horror didn't do as great as 20th Century Fox thought it would, the film was taken out of circulation for a short period.
There's an option to watch either version on the bluray. Some of the vocals are sang differently on a few songs. Same words, different inflections and whatnot. A good example is "it's a gas that frankie's landed" line in the floor show. For the UK version, it's a Linton Tweed thrust that drives you bloody insane.
