Sadly, this beach has seen better days. Most of the facilities have been taken down after the raised section with the bathrooms and basketball court fell into the surf. The beach sand has washed away.

Surfing is popular at Capistrano Beach Park when the waves break in the summer months. Capo Beach is narrow at the parking lot but it opens up north of there. Storms and higher tides have ripped away the sand at this beach and the county is doing their best to truck more in as needed.

Capistrano Beach Park, better known as Capo Beach, is one of my favorite Orange County beaches – not for swimming – but just to pull into the parking lot, pile out, and be in the sand right away. It’s often foggy in the morning. It neighbors Doheny State Beach and boasts brilliant sunset views.
Wonderful beach for sittin' on the sand and for surfing... Capo's one of those place you can go in the evening and chill on the beach since it's a simple and quick walk from the lot.
