Medical cost sharing is a community where members agree to share medical expenses through voluntary giving. Unlike insurance, the focus of Zion HealthShare is to provide an avenue for members to help each other bear their immediate healthcare expenses.
Will Zion HealthShare share in medical costs incurred outside the United States? For members who are traveling abroad, acute or emergent, eligible medical expenses may be considered for sharing no matter where in the world they were incurred and treated.
Eligible medical expenses will be shared among community members. When your sharing request is determined eligible for sharing, Zion HealthShare will work with you to coordinate provider payments.
Upon final payment by the primary insurance, Zion HealthShare will review remaining expenses for eligibility for sharing. Please make sure that you submit a sharing request and all subsequent medical bills/statements through your member portal within six months of any medical need.
The Zion HealthShare medical cost sharing community chooses not to share in some medical expenses. Decisions for sharing eligibility are made to benefit all members by keeping monthly contributions low and sharing in medical expenses based on our Principles of Membership.
The Zion HealthShare Community cannot share in a member’s medical expenses until their IUA has been met. You can meet your IUA by paying your medical bills directly to your provider and submitting receipts to Zion HealthShare. When you do, ask for itemized bills for all costs.
