Markham (/ ˈ m ɑːr k ə m /) is a city in York Region, Ontario, Canada. It is approximately 30 km (19 mi) northeast of Downtown Toronto. In the 2021 Census, Markham had a population of 338,503, which ranked it the largest in York Region, fourth largest in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), and 16th largest in Canada.

- Go for a bike ride. At Joyride 150 you can ride all year, regardless of the weather! This indoor bike park features ramps, skinnies and lines, and even has an 800m mountain bike trail.
- Spend the afternoon in a park. Toogood Park is a 330-hectare park that is famous for its pond. The park is located in Unionville and is a great place for an afternoon stroll.

- Eat at some of the best Asian restaurants. If you know anything about Markham, it’s probably that there’s a large Asian population. And of course, that means it’s one of the best cities to grab authentic and delicious Asian food in all of Canada!
- Shop at First Markham Place. I feel like I’ve definitely walked through First Markham Place (also known as FMP) at least 100 times in my life. My parents worked in the area, and it was pretty much one of the only places to hang out back when I was in high school over a decade ago!
- Have a spa day at Go Place. You might’ve seen Go Place pop up on your Instagram feed, and if you haven’t, you’ll definitely want to pay it a visit. It’s a super chic wellness spa with all kinds of different themed specialty rooms, including a volcanic rock room, ice room, and jade room.
- Shop at Pacific Mall. PMall was like the cool, older sister to FMP back in the day. It’s a lot bigger, with a lot more little shops that you can stop into and a lot more food options.
