- The Mosque–Cathedral of Córdoba. The mosque-cathedral of Cordoba (also sometimes called Mezquita) is the city’s emblematic monument and certainly the most impressive.
- Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos. This is the other must-see monument when visiting Cordoba: the Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos (“Alcázar of the Christian Kings” in English).
- Cordoba Synagogue. Located in the Jewish quarter, it’s the only existing synagogue in Andalusia and the third best preserved in Spain. Although small, it’s worth a visit especially for the nice stucco decorations of the main hall.

Cordoba has a lot for the curious traveller. The most famous sight is its Mezquita (mosque), declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1984. In 1994 UNESCO also added to its list of world heritage the historical center of Cordoba, and in 2012 the traditional Fiesta de los Patios Cordobeses was designated Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
