I would strongly suggest buying base Jagged Alliance 2 on GOG.com. Wildfire, Gold, Unfinished Business, and all the other variants of the game aren't very well supported by the mod community. While you can make most mods work via a Steam installation it takes a lot more effort.

Jagged Alliance 2 is still the best tactical RPG game (that goes double for 1.13) As the title says, after over 60 hours spent in JA3 I feel quite confident to compare the two (three) games and say if the latest entry into the series is worthy of its name.
It is a cult game, often noted for its singular unique model, in a similar legendary fashion to Star Control 2, or more prominently System Shock 2. Cult status: I struggle to find a gaming community more enamored with this game than the German gaming community.
