Berlin was formed in Orange County, California, in 1978. The band is best known for their hit singles “The Metro,” “No More Words,” and the chart-topping “Take My Breath Away” from the “Top Gun” soundtrack, which won the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 1986.

The group would become a household name in 1986 when they released the number one single “Take My Breath Away” from the motion picture Top Gun.
