Jan 1, 2000 · 2000: Merger with Memorial Health Systems (AdventHealth Daytona Beach and AdventHealth DeLand) Following a long relationship with Florida Hospital and after facing some financial hardships, Memorial Health Systems approached Adventist Health System (now AdventHealth) about a possible merger.
In late May 2000, Memorial Health Systems chose to merge with Adventist Health System. On October 1, 2000, Florida Hospital officially took over its hospitals in Flagler County and Volusia County. On November 1, 2002, Shawnee Mission Medical Center in Merriam, Kansas split from Saint Luke's Health System and joined Adventist Health System.
The deal officially closed on April 1, 2018. Rideout Health is now doing business as Adventist Health and Rideout as approved by the Attorney General.
