Let’s start with the seacoast of Sumatra Island. As you can see on the satellite maps, the West Sumatra section is mainly straight, without promontories, bays, cliffs, adjacent islets, and rocks. The exception is only a small area south of Padang and in the northwestern end of the province.
West Sumatra ( Indonesian: Sumatera Barat) is a province of Indonesia. It is on the west coast of the island of Sumatra and includes the Mentawai Islands off that coast.
