Before dropping out and moving to LA, her manager had got her an audition for the role of Jean Fordham in an Arden Theatre Company production of August: Osage County. She ended up getting the role. In Los Angeles, she worked as a waitress and as a buyer at Wasteland, a resale store while auditioning for roles.
