Aug 6, 2015 · Yee plays the Third Master, the greatest living swordsman – who has turned his back on killing. Desperate for anonymity he fakes his own death and invents a new life for himself in obscurity.
The Third Master is considered to be the greatest sword master of the day. His displays of skill and strength bring armies of challengers to his door, seeking the title for themselves. Not to be defeated, the Third Master fights evil, saves damsels in distress, and duels rival swordsmen to the death.
Among them is Yen Shi-san, currently the second greatest warrior in the world, who will stop at nothing to challenge the Third Master to a Death Duel. Derek Yee notably earns himself the Best Actor Awards for Hong Kong films in 1977, and would subsequently star in numerous wuxia epics for Shaw Brothers in the 80s.
The most famous swordsman in China, the Third Master, wants to withdraw from his life of killing and retire into anonymity, but finds it impossible to leave violence behind as waves of challengers continue to plague him, all seeking the fame of defeating the greatest swordsman.
