Aug 8, 2011 · Oh, I see you are in Canada. It might be good to have a dog that is adapted to the cold. Yes, a Newfoundland would be a good dog to have. They are supposed to be calm dogs, so hopefully it wouldn't be running around and scaring the chickens.
