May 4, 2024 · I wanted to love Mary and the witch’s flower, for all the reasons you mentioned, but was kind of put off by it halfway through the movie. I’d give it a 4/10, probably wouldn’t watch it a second time. Do you know of any ghibli-esque movies that are worth watching? Always on the hunt for new ones!!
May 1, 2024 · Discussion. Obviously not a Ghibli movie, but certainly one of the most "Ghibli-adjacent" movies ever made. Finally watched this after putting it off forever. When Marnie Was There is my favorite Ghibli movie but I always heard Mary and the Witch's Flower, the follow-up from Marnie director Hiromasa Yonebayashi, wasn't great.
