The Venice Biennale ( / ˌbiːɛˈnɑːleɪ, - li /; Italian: La Biennale di Venezia) is an international cultural exhibition hosted annually in Venice, Italy by the Biennale Foundation. [1] [2] [3] The biennale has been organised every year since 1895, which makes it the oldest of its kind.
It took place at Venice Lido from 30 August to 9 September 2023. The Festival is officially recognised by the FIAPF (International Federation of Film Producers Association). The aim of the Festival is to raise awareness and promote international cinema in all its forms as art, entertainment and as an industry, in a spirit of freedom and dialogue.
