WFIR has come a long way from a back office at 106 Church Street. Also in May 2002, Joey Self began hosting the Roanoke Valley’s Morning News. In September 2011 WFIR added FM translator W297BC and revised it’s logo to include the new 107.3FM that WFIR can now be heard on. In March 2017 WFIR added a second FM translator W233CK on 94.5FM.
