  1. Sep 1, 2010 · The latter is a surprising result as one might expect that if the local density and number of individuals are spatially autocorrelated the same should be true for patch occupancy. We speculate that such a result is possible only if patch occupancy is constant over time e.g. the same patches are occupied in different seasons.

  2. Oct 10, 2023 · Functional patch size was the sole (n = 7) or primary (n = 1) predictor of patch occupancy by the largest species in ordinal logistic regression models for 8 (62%) of the 13 multispecies guilds (Table (Table5, 5, Fig. 8 —event probability 2). Total patch amount was the sole (n = 2) or primary (n = 2) variable in 4 models (31%).

  3. May 9, 2018 · The Future: The future of occupancy modeling includes both methodological development and conservation application. New methodological developments include multistate models, models that incorporate both habitat and species dynamics, models that include effects of neighbor locations, and models that include not only nondetection, but also ...

  4. Occupancy definition: the act, state, or condition of being or becoming a tenant or of living in or taking up quarters or space in or on something. See examples of OCCUPANCY used in a sentence.

  5. Nov 23, 2005 · A common example of this is studies where only sites of historic occupancy within the population are surveyed (i.e. sites that were once known to be occupied by the species). For example, the level of occupancy would probably be higher in a sample of 100 historic sites than in a sample of 100 sites randomly selected from the entire population.

  7. Sep 1, 2010 · In a biological sense spatial autocorrelation may lead to spatial synchrony that refers to coincident changes in occupancy, number of individuals and their density (Liebhold et al., 2004). In our study we found significant spatial autocorrelation for the number of individuals recorded in a patch and their density but not for patch occupancy.
