  3. Everything you said is mostly correct except money market funds settle in T+1. Stocks, bonds, ETFs and most other things settle in T+2. That's how you're able to buy a stock and then sell SWVXX to cover it same-day. SWVXX will settle tomorrow, and the stock buy will settle in two days.
