Mar 13, 2019 · The term “morbilliform” connotes a measles-like: the rash of measles is classically described as having macules that are 3 to 4 mm in size that coalesce. MDE is usually itchy. The eruption usually begins on the trunk and upper extremities and progresses caudally.
The most common type of eruption is a morbilliform (resembling measles) or erythematous rash (approximately 90% of cases). Less commonly, the appearance may also be urticarial, papulosquamous, pustular, purpuric, bullous (with blisters) or lichenoid. Angioedema can also be drug-induced (most notably, by angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors).
The rash appears as rounded about 2 to 10 mm in diameter macular lesions. The rash is confluent in places.
