Marriage License Application (Application must be used within 30 days) New Marriage Law Requirements; Fees: *BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 2023* Marriage License fee is $60.00. This fee includes the cost of the marriage license ($51) and a certified copy ($9).
Both applicants must appear together at the Recorder of Deeds Office, located in the St. Charles County Administration Building at 201 N. Second St., St. Charles, MO 63301. If you would like to schedule a marriage ceremony with the 11th Judicial Circuit Court, please call 636-949-7380 and schedule a date prior to applying for a marriage license.
Know the cost. The fee for applying for a marriage license is $50. Cash, credit (Discover, Visa or Mastercard) or debit card is accepted. This fee is non-refundable. There is a 2.75% bank processing fee if a debit or credit card is used.

Locally, marriage licenses can be obtained from the Recorder of Deeds Office in the county where the license was obtained. Divorce decrees can be obtained from the Circuit Clerk in the county where the divorce was granted.

Applicants must be 18 years old to get married without parental consent. If an applicant is under 18 but at least 15 years old, then they must be accompanied by a parent when they file the application. The parent must prove their age and identity with documentation such as a birth certificate or driver’s license.
