A Carillon is an instrument of at least 23 tuned bells in chromatic series. Cast from bronze, which is composed mainly of copper and tin, and then specially tuned. The bells are “hung dead” meaning that the bells do not swing, only the clappers move. The instrument is fully mechanical (there are no electronics).

Aug 15, 2023 · Admission is $7 per adult ($5 children ages 5-12), and general admission to Bok Tower Gardens is required. It is open from 10 pm to 4 pm, Tuesday through Sunday from November 1st to April 30th. It’s closed on Mondays. From May 1st to October 31st it is open 11 am to 3 pm, Tuesday through Sunday. It’s closed on Mondays.

Standing at 205 feet, it can be seen from nearly everywhere in the gardens and surrounding community. The tower originally held the 60-bell carillon, water tanks to irrigate the gardens, and Edward Bok’s study.
