17 years ago. Lima is a great city to visit, but as was stated by other travellers there is a LOT to see in Peru - most an hour or two by air. There are also a lot of comments about Lima being dangerous. Quite honestly, after living here for a year and visiting tor years, I find most major US cities more dangerous.
Barranco, Surco, Miraflores and San Isidro wouldbe the safest areaa. There is definetly very very dangerous places in Lima. My girlfriend is from there and we were living there for months. Im a well travelled european and been in many dangerous countries like Colombia and Jamaica and Lima is no different.
