The County Clerk also maintains case files for the Harris County Civil and Probate Courts, as well as, the records of the Harris County Commissioners Court.

  6. The Harris County Clerks Office has land records from when the Republic of Texas was formed in 1836 to the present day. The Public Records Department’s role is to assist the public in looking up these land records, along with marriage licenses, DBA’s and other miscellaneous personal records.
