In the initial corrosion process of AZ91D alloy, atomic hydrogen diffused into β phase, which evoked the decreasing of hydrogen evolution rate and the weakening of negative difference effect (NDE). Due to the diffusion of hydrogen into β phase, the surface potential of β phase decreased.
