Mar 23, 2018 · Fairly solid, if a bit inessential The script is a bit ear-scraping (the bits where they try to make John Boyega's character funny are painfully bad) and the chemistry between the cast is very awkward (though the performances themselves aren't bad) but it's a good-looking film with plenty of action and pretty snappy pacing that delivers on its promise of big robots fighting big monsters.
