Jerry Dammers was inspired by the Lovers Rock track 'At The Club' by Victor Romeo Evans. Intrigued by the track's production, Dammers contacted producer John Collins in the middle of the night, asking if he'd be willing to get involved in the making of Ghost Town, to which Collins replied: "Do you know what time it is?"
