Jul 8, 2013 · Just to clarify, the "Judge Ben Wiles" isn't a steamboat. She has a diesel engine (which can be seen from the dining room, through a plexi-glass hatch cover). She was designed to look like the old steamers that used to ply the waters of Skaneateles Lake. She's a newer boat, designed and built by Mid-Lakes and launched in July 1986.
